Troubleshooting: XPoint Wi-Fi Router

Troubleshooting: XPoint Wi-Fi Router

What is an XPoint Router:
The XPoint Router is designed to ensure optimal network performance for XBody devices, enhancing the stability of the network connection. It is especially useful in environments where the Standalone mode faces external network interference.

XPoint Router is recommended for:
  1. Customers operating multiple XBody Tablets: If you're using more than one XBody Tablet simultaneously, the XPoint Router is essential.
  2. Locations with multiple networks: In areas with several networks that might cause interference in Standalone (AP) mode, using the XPoint Router ensures more stable network performance.
Using the XPoint Router:
  1. Placement: Ensure that the router is located near the training area and positioned in an open space to prevent signal blockage.
  2. Studio Mode: All XBody Tablets must be set to Studio Mode and connected to the XPoint Router. Using multiple tablets in different modes can cause network instability for the Actiwears.
    1. On the tablet, go to Administrator/Network mode and click the pen icon above Studio mode to monitor the network and select a Wi-Fi channel. Choose the least crowded channel.
    2. Verify that the correct country is selected for the XPoint Router to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
  3. 5 GHz Frequency: It is recommended to switch the router to the 5 GHz frequency instead of 2.4 GHz, as this leads to more stable network performance.
  4. Single Router Operation: Only one router should be operating at a time. If you need extended range, use the extender unit provided by XBody.
Troubleshooting the XPoint Router:
  1. Software Updates: Ensure that the XBody Tablet’s software is up to date.
  2. Battery Level: The XBody Tablet should be charged, with the battery remaining over 10% to avoid disconnections.
  3. Network Issues:
    1. If multiple Actiwears are disconnecting from the network, it’s likely due to network interference.
    2. If only a single Actiwear disconnects, the issue is likely with the Actiwear device itself.
Key Recommendations:
  1. Place the router in an open, central location for optimal signal strength.
  2. Use 5 GHz over 2.4 GHz whenever possible for improved performance.
  3. Keep the software up to date and ensure proper device setup to minimize disconnection issues.
